Flush & Pressurize

We empty the remaining gas and fill the system with Dry Nitrogen at 350-450 PSI. (Nitrogen is dry, unlike air which contains moisture that damages the compressor).

The 24-Hour Hold

We lock the pressure and leave the gauge attached for 24 Hours.

The Verdict

If the needle drops even by 5 PSI the next day, the leak is confirmed.

Pinpoint

We use soap solution on every joint (U-Bends, Flair Nuts) to find bubbles. For hidden leaks, we use UV Dye or separate the Indoor/Outdoor units to isolate the faulty part.

Where Does It Leak?

The U-Bends (Condenser Coil)
  • The copper curves on the outdoor unit rust due to rain, dog urine, or dust.
  • Fix: Micro-Brazing or Condenser Coil Replacement.
The Flare Nuts
  • The brass nuts connecting the pipe to the unit loosen due to compressor vibration.
  • Fix: Retightening or New Flare Creation.
The Evaporator (Indoor Coil)
  • Corrosion from accumulated dirt and moisture (sludge).
  • Fix: Cooling Coil Replacement.

Leak Detection FAQs

Why use Nitrogen? Why not air?
Air contains moisture which destroys the AC. Nitrogen is Dry and Inert. It is safe and clean.
For R32/R410A systems, we pump 350-500 PSI. This high pressure forces the leak to hiss or show bubbles.
For minor leaks, we find it in 30 mins. For micro-leaks, we leave the pressure on “Hold” for 24 hours.
Charges range from ₹500 – ₹800 depending on the time involved.
If it’s a joint, we braze (weld) it. If the pipe is porous (rotten), we advise replacement.
If the pressure drops but no joint leaks, the leak is inside the wall. We may have to bypass the concealed pipe.
Soap water only finds big leaks. Nitrogen finds the tiny ones.
Yes. If gas is leaking, there is a hole. Nitrogen will find it.
